How it started
The inception of JAK labs dates back to 2016 as a collaborative effort between Dr. Andrew Pedtke, orthopedic surgeon & CEO of LIM Innovations, and Dr. Ken Loh, Professor of Engineering at UC San Diego.
Together, they made groundbreaking strides in the Department of Defense's Warfighter Performance Program by integrating thin film sensors into prosthetic sockets; revolutionizing our understanding of amputee gait and function.
Realizing the vast potential of these high-fidelity sensors, Commander Josh Swift, program officer at the Office of Naval Research, envisioned broader applications.
Thus, JAK Labs was founded to expand the horizon of this technology with a vision to optimize human movement and performance on a comprehensive scale.
